XVIII century glass goblet from the Crystal Glassworks in Lubartów.
A representative glass cup with a characteristic, elongated silhouette (the so-called flute) often referred to as the original type of a Polish toast baroque chalice. The antic object came to us with a shattered base. Our task was to reconstruct the missing part,so the cup could be returned to the exhibition at the Royal Castle in Warsaw in all its glory.
The challenge was not only to model the shape of the missing fragment of the foot. It was also necessary to faithfully reproduce the engraved decoration - two crossed palm branches. The preserved fragments of the decoration made it possible to reproduce its whole on the basis of analogy to similar objects from the same label. After the intervention, the foot and its decoration were completely reconstructed.
