Temptation of Christ in the desert. "Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, left the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness where for forty days he was tempted by the devil." (Luke 4,1) Satan who took a form of a man want Jesus to worship him. In return, he promises him the ability to rule over the world. This scene represents the opposite of a humble nod from the three kings from the East to the Child Jesus. Jesus was tempted in every way, like us, like a regular man, a servant of God. He is the 'new Adam' that resisted while the first one failed.
